Beef Teriyaki

Served at Tozai Restaurant at the Radisson Inn in Plymouth, Minneaota.

Ingredients

  • 4 - 8 ounce center cut top butt or New York sirloin steaks
  • 1 cup saké
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup sugar
  • cups water
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon ginger
  • cornstarch for thickening

Instructions

  • Combine saké, soy sauce, sugar, water, garlic powder, and ginger for teriyaki sauce. Stir well over heat and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and thicken to desired consistency with a cornstarch and water paste. Remove from heat; let cool.
  • Broil the steaks to the desired doneness. Slice into strips and coat with teriyaki sauce. Glaze under the broiler.
  • Place on a plate and serve with extra sauce on the side.
