4- 8 ounce center cut top butt or New York sirloin steaks
1cupsaké
1cupsoy sauce
1cupsugar
1½cupswater
½teaspoongarlic powder
½teaspoonginger
cornstarch for thickening
Instructions
Combine saké, soy sauce, sugar, water, garlic powder, and ginger for teriyaki sauce. Stir well over heat and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and thicken to desired consistency with a cornstarch and water paste. Remove from heat; let cool.
Broil the steaks to the desired doneness. Slice into strips and coat with teriyaki sauce. Glaze under the broiler.
Place on a plate and serve with extra sauce on the side.
