Ingredients
1½poundslean ground beef
1large onion, chopped
3celery ribs, chopped fine
½medium green pepper, chopped
2 - 15ouncecans chili hot beans, with liquid
2 - 15ouncecans kidney beans, with liquid
1cantomato soup
1 - 14.5ouncecan whole stewed tomatoes, with liquid
1 - 4 ouncecan of mushroom stems and pieces
Chili beef paste:
2tablespoonschili powder
1tablespoonbeef paste or 2 boullion cubes
1tablespoonflour
3tablespoonswater
1teaspoonsalt
½teaspoonblack pepper
Instructions
Brown ground beef, onion, celery, and green pepper. Drain fat. Add chili hot beans, kidney beans, tomato soup, tomatoes, and mushrooms. Cook for 15 minutes over medium heat, stirring frequently.
Combine all ingredients for the chili beef paste together. Add to meat and beans.
Cover and simmer over low heat for one hour, stirring occasionally. Up to two cups of water may be added during simmering if consistenceyis too thick.
